Celebrating Milestones: Stanley’s 2 Million Safe Miles

Reaching a million safe miles is an incredible milestone for any driver, and 2 million safe miles is even more astounding. Stanley W. has been a dedicated team driver for PAM Transport since 2006. In January of 2024, he reached 2 million safe miles behind the wheel of a PAM truck.

The Road to Driving with PAM

Before starting his career at PAM, Stanley proudly served in the military for 3 years during the Gulf War. Once he returned to life as a civilian, his desire for a stable career inspired his interest in truck driving. “When I came out of the military, I was looking for a job that would always be in demand, and trucking seemed to fit that description,” said Stanley. He got his Class A Commercial Driver’s License and began searching for a position. With both his father and brother working at PAM at the time, his decision to join them was easy. Stanley has remained on the PAM Transport team for nearly two decades now.

Safety at Every Turn

Over 18 years with one company is impressive, and Stanley was eager to point out how PAM has helped him go the long distance. “With all the new safety equipment on the truck, constant training, and our managers’ consistent emphasis on keeping safety at the forefront of our minds – you can tell this company really cares about the drivers,” said Stanley. PAM invests in driver safety training through a 24/7 on-call maintenance team, company shops providing service, and safety programs to ensure DOT compliance.

In addition to comprehensive driver training, PAM offers training to the drivers’ support teams. This allows the team to gain a basic understanding of the equipment utilized. It also ensures that the support team is well-equipped for the challenges a driver may face on the road. For example, Driver Managers receive much of the same training as drivers, including education on conducting pre-trip inspections that drivers must complete before each trip.

How Stanley Stays Safe

Stanley notes that some days may be challenging, but he enjoys his job and the freedom of the open road. When asked about the key to reaching 2 million safe miles, his advice is, “Don’t be in such a rush because that is when you start to make mistakes. Slow down and pay attention.” Over the years, Stanley has learned that taking his time, planning, and driving defensively have been some of the most influential factors in staying safe on the road. He feels extremely fortunate to have reached this milestone, and he intends to continue practicing safe driving habits moving forward.

While attention to detail is a major contributing factor that has helped Stanley achieve 2 million safe miles, it is also his personal commitment to safety. “It means everything. Safe driving helps me get the product to and from the customer and makes sure I get home to my family,” Stanley explained.

Thanks, Stanley.

Stanley’s hard work and dedication are second to none. Jesse P., Stanley’s Operation Manager at his home terminal in North Jackson, says, “Stanley is a great driver but even a greater person. He shows up to work every day with a great attitude and always commits himself to excellence on the job.” Earlier this year, his Operations team took Stanley and his wife to dinner to celebrate his amazing achievements and incredible character.

Recently, the PAM team gathered to give Stanley a celebration out in Tontitown. Here, the team presented Stanley with plenty of cheers, desserts, a bonus, and a trophy recognizing his safety milestone. As a final award, Stanley was moved into a brand new 2025 Freightliner. This upgrade was a well-deserved recognition of his unwavering commitment to safe driving.

Gary K., Vice President of Driver Resources, also shared his support for Stanley’s accomplishments. “It takes having incredible pride in what you do and being intentional every day in how you do it,” Gary shared. “He is a great example of what all drivers should strive for.”

“Thank you, Stanley, for keeping our roads and families safe all these years!” Gary exclaimed. PAM Transport is proud to have Stanley on our driving team and honored to celebrate his outstanding career.

Thanks a million (or 2), Stanley.
